I have been an avid photography and darkroom enthusiast for close to 25 years. Starting out by making black and white prints from old negatives shot by my Father and others, I eventually inherited an elderly 4x5 Speed Graphic camera and began making copy negatives from old black and white prints. I found I was able to make some extra money by making dupe prints from these negatives. People appreciated the fairly high quality I was able to get by working from a large format negative, as opposed to the more common 35mm size negative.
But after a few years of this, I began to grow tired of printing images shot by other people. I found myself looking at many of the copy prints I was making and considering how I might have photographed the scene differently. So, about 10 years ago, I gradually stopped the copy work and began making large format black and white photographs for myself.
